FOTOS, no tengo.
I am in Bangkok (English version to be continued)
here I got together with Stephen, a guy from Manchester I met in Australia. Since we were to follow sort of the same path we agreed to hook up in BKK if plans did not change and continue at least part of the trip, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, together.
Bangkok has the Grand Palace that like my friend Stuart told me a few days ago, might well challenge any other site for the 8th wonder of the world. A complex of different palaces, pagodas and a rich intricate decoration make for Thai splendeur at its best.
A beutiful boat trip on one f the regular scheduled services helps get a view of the city form the river, but this seems to be a city not looking over the river unfortunately. Still pleasant in the afternoon sunshine.
Unfortunately I lost all the pics. My memory card seems to be damaged and there is no way to make any device read the wonderful pics I had taken both in Bangkok and in the Floating market the next day. Fortunately Stephen did take some pics and I might be in a couple so it is not hopeless.
The floating market I visited, although not the only it does account for the largest, at least in the Bangkok region. One and a half hour minibus ride take me to the place where we board a boat and through the canals we get to the pier where we can get onboard teh smaller traditional wooden motorless boats.
